Here we have a lovely couple that we had the opportunity to meet and help design and develop their fun and exciting Luxury Outdoor Living Area.
Our clients approached us with the request to primarily design them an outdoor living space that they could take advantage of, all year round.
So, we asked them what special features they had in mind?
Their requests were as follows!
Firstly, they wanted a brand-new Luxury Garden Room with a customised built in Sauna, Jacuzzi and a separate Bathroom Area, in which they could shower, after using their own personal Spa facilities.
They also requested the structure to be large enough to incorporate an additional Media and Games room, as they were both keen Dart Players.
So as the Unique team always do, we rose to the challenge.
The first stage of the project, was to calculate the size of the structure that would be appropriate to accommodate all of their special requests.
This structure needed to be 9m x 3.5m, which would be divided as follows:
1 X room @3m x 3.5m (Media Room)
1 room @4m x 3.5m (Main Spa Room)
1 room @1m x 2m (Sauna Room)
1 room @ 1m x 2m (Bathroom)
Both areas were to be fitted with Bi-Folding Doors, which would enable both areas to be open to the natural elements during the summer months.
Now for the build process!
The garden was initially excavated and the new drainage system was installed, prior to the concrete foundation being poured.
Once the concrete was set, it was time to install the main structure.
The client wanted this garden room to have quite a modern and low maintenance look.
So, we kept this in mind.
All the external cladding was installed in a vertical composite cladding finished with minimal maintenance needed in the future, and the roofline was completed in an EPDM Rubber Roof with UPVC facia and soffit lines, which was also very easy to keep clean.
The Bi-Folding Doors and Windows installed were powder coated aluminium frames (as per all our builds).
Time to tackle all the internal finishes!
This took quite a bit of planning to enable us to develop their dream garden room, without the feel of it being too small for what it was being used for and making sure we could maximize the space that we had to work with.
All the internal walls, ceilings and floors were fully insulated and all the electrical feeds were calculated and installed too.
The floor space was then divided up into the individual areas to match the design layout.
All dividing walls were then constructed.
The plumbing for the Bathroom area and Spa Areas were installed.
All the floors in each room were completed and then it was time to time build and install the customised Sauna Area.
Once this was completed, the next process was to get all the Bathroom installed.
The walls within the Spa area were all done in ‘Spacata Venetian Plaster’ with a Wax Water Proofed Finish, which was the ideal product to use in this kind of environment, due to its water resistance.
We installed a small Fibre Optic Star Light feature, within the ceiling above the Jacuzzi, to give the room a bit more character.
Once the Spa Room was complete, it was then time to work on the full design and installation of the Media and Games Room.
This room had a Natural Wood Floor installed, along with a custom designed Media Area.
Finally, it was time to bring it all together with the completion of the full external landscaping.
We created a Water Feature Bedding Area and an Artificial Grass Garden, also for low maintenance and the Patio Areas were fitted with Porcelain Tiles.
All of this was then completed with some LED Ambient Lighting, to really set things off.
Since the completion of this project, the clients came back to us and enquired about the possibility of having a custom-built Canopy, that they could utilize as a BBQ space at any time of the year.
And guess what?
We rose to the challenge and built them that too!
Now they have one of the most stunning garden spaces we have designed and built so far.
